2025 Tesla Model Y Launches in the U.S.
Tesla has introduced the 2025 Model Y in the U.S., which features design updates, enhanced technology, and improved performance.
Design and exterior
The new Model Y takes inspiration from the Cybertruck and Cybercab, featuring a futuristic look with a full-width light bar at the front and rear. The front includes split headlights and an aerodynamic bumper, while the rear showcases a sleek taillight panel with the Tesla logo in block letters.
New color options include “Glacier Blue” and standard choices like Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multicoat, Quicksilver, and Ultra Red.
Interior upgrades
The cabin now offers perforated leather or leatherette seats with ventilation, ambient lighting, and an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen for rear passengers to control climate and entertainment. The main 15.4-inch touchscreen remains the control center.
Acoustic glass has been added to reduce noise, and the materials have been upgraded for a more premium feel.
Performance and range
Thanks to improved aerodynamics, the Model Y Juniper delivers better efficiency. The long-range AWD version offers up to 350 miles of range (EPA estimate), while the standard-range RWD model achieves around 368 miles based on Chinese tests.
Acceleration is impressive, with the long-range model reaching 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds and the standard version in 5.9 seconds. A Performance model is expected later in 2025.
Pricing and availability
The “Launch Series” Model Y starts at $59,990 in the U.S. and comes with Full Self-Driving and Acceleration Boost. In China, prices start at ¥263,500 for the standard version and ¥303,500 for the long-range model. Deliveries in the U.S. are scheduled for March 2025.
Unlike the Model 3 Highland, the new Model Y keeps the traditional turn signal stalk. The suspension, tires, and wheels have been improved for a smoother ride.
The 2025 Model Y brings significant upgrades to one of Tesla’s most popular vehicles, enhancing its design, comfort, and performance while maintaining its reputation as a top-selling electric SUV. This long-awaited refresh has been well received by customers.
